Ways to Give

Your ongoing financial support allows Whatcom Land Trust to connect our community to the forests, parks, agricultural lands, rivers, and marine habitat that we love, year after year. Like gifts that flow freely from nature, your gifts flow back into the land, water and species through our work.

Together, we work to balance the flow and create conditions for nature to continue its cycle of life. You and the stories you share are central to this profoundly simple equation. Watch what donors are saying about why they support Whatcom Land Trust.

Your gift to Whatcom Land Trust brings your story to life and shows what it means to be engaged, rooted, and invested in the land here in Whatcom County.

Whatcom Land Trust is a privately funded 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, EIN # 91-1246994. Your donation is tax deductible and will help protect the Nature of Whatcom County for current and future generations. Review our most recent Annual Report and IRS Form 990. Contact Jill Clark, Philanthropy Director, at (360) 746-3423 or email for more information on ways to give.

Make an online gift using our secure portal at Network For Good. You can choose a one-time contribution or become a Sustaining Donor with a monthly or quarterly donation. Let us know if this is an honorary or memorial gift and we will send acknowledgement to the honoree.

Send a check, drop by the office or call with your credit card number to:

412 N Commercial St | PO Box 6131, Bellingham, WA  98227-3161 | (360) 650-9470

Remember or honor a colleague or loved one with a memorial or honorary gift in recognition of their love of the land. Make an online gift using our secure portal at Network For Good and name your honoree or memorial in the ‘Designation’ section of the form, or name the honoree/memorial in the memo section of your check. If you would like us to send acknowledgement or the gift to a family member, fill out the contact information on the online form or include a note with your check.

Former Whatcom Land Trust board member Rebecca Reich’s love of Whatcom County’s lands lives on through a memorial established in her memory to fund a Whatcom Land Trust Conservation Internship. Read more about Solvei Metcalf, conservation intern, here.

Gifts of appreciated stock or mutual funds may allow you to make a larger contribution than a cash donation and may also help you save on taxes. Contact Jill Clark, Philanthropy Director, at (360) 746-3423  if you have questions or need help with a stock transfer to our Wells Fargo or Schwab account.

Our community makes ‘Best Places’ lists that praise our quality of life and recognize that sound environmental stewardship and good business are a powerful duo. For 30 years willing landowners have donated their land, placed conservation easements on their land, or donated property to Whatcom Land Trust for permanent community benefit. These generous gifts of land protect healthy shorelines, streams, forests, parks, agricultural and open spaces in our community, forever. Contact Conservation Gabe Epperson for more details.

Legacy gifts keep conservation values dear to you and your loved ones alive in perpetuity. Have you thought about including Whatcom Land Trust in your will, retirement plan, or life insurance policy? It’s one of the simplest steps you can take to protect the Nature of Whatcom County for future generations, and is as easy as signing your name. You may find this Bequest Information Form helpful as you begin to think through your plans.

Let us show you how you can plan today to help nature tomorrow and make a world of difference for our community. Contact Jill Clark at jill@whacomlandtrust.org and (360) 746-3423.

Former Whatcom Land Trust board member Joan Casey left a legacy of compassion and generosity through the planned gift she made to Whatcom Land Trust. Read more about Joan’s planned gift here.

The simplest, easiest way to make a future gift is to name Whatcom Land Trust beneficiary of property such as a retirement plan, life insurance policy or bank account. You can name a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of the total – your choice. You can often do this directly from the website of your account holder. You will need 3 pieces of information: WLT’s federal tax ID# is 91-1246994; our incorporation date is 9/20/1984; our physical address is: 412 N Commercial St, Bellingham, WA 98225.

You can also donate through Fred Myer’s Rewards Program. Here is how it works.
