Business Partners in Conservation

Our community makes ‘Best Places’ lists that praise our quality of life and feature Whatcom County’s bountiful parks, rivers, farms, shorelines and open spaces. Business Partners in Conservation share Whatcom Land Trust’s mission to preserve and protect these beloved places and recognize that sound environmental stewardship and good business are a powerful duo.

Your company makes our community a better place to live and do business. Thank you! Your support of Whatcom Land Trust helps you grow a sustainable region, connect with people in our community who share your values, attract and keep a talented engaged workforce that helps your business thrive.

Whatcom Land Trust salutes our business partners. We invite you to support our work through a corporate grant, business sponsorship, in-kind services or materials, ‘Adopt-a Property’, or employee matching gift program.

We are proud to help tell our shared conservation stories through the following business partner.

Business Partner in Conservation Profile

Superfeet, based in Ferndale, is dedicated not only to bringing out the athlete in all of us but also to supporting social and environmental causes. Jeff Grant, Director of Outreach, talks about this philosophy of giving as “When you build a culture where you put people ahead of profit it has a huge impact on the spirit of your employees and work culture. This in turn cultivates a business-wide ethic of community service within the Superfeet family.”

Be the Awesome is Superfeet’s way of bringing that ethic to life and engaging the community. In 2016 Be the Awesome translated into giving 1,000 dedicated volunteer hours, including a team that spend a sunny August day removing invasive scotch broom from Whatcom Land Trust’s Maple Creek Reach restoration on the North Fork Nooksack. Read the story on pages 8-9 of our fall issue of The Steward.

How does our community know that your business values land conservation, stewardship and community engagement in the Whatcom places we love? Whatcom Land Trust can help you tell your story.
